Baroness Orczy (1865-1947), Hungarian-born British novelist and playwright, most fondly remembered for her adventure series centred around the protagonist of The Scarlet Pimpernel. Skin O'My Tooth comprises 12 short stories centred around protagonist Patrick Mulligan, an Irish lawyer who goes to often great lengths to see his clients vindicated. First appearing in the Windsor Magazine in 1903 it was not until 25 years later that the tales were collected together.
