A mid-eighteenth-century pocket almanac with contemporary manuscript notes, primarily relating to money debited and credited, in the hand of Alexander Chalmers 'Gardner to Malleny', the estate of the Scotts of Buccleuch in Balerno, Scotland.

In addition to financial concerns, the notes include an inventory of items 'all in the large chest', including '1 Tartan Vest Silver Lace'.
