A rare survival, in original state, of the first edition of an elegiac poem lamenting the execution of Church of England Clergyman William Dodd (1729-1777) on charges of forgery, commonly attributed to William Combe (1742-1823), author of a contemporary prose pamphlet account of Dodd's extravagant life and sorry end A Dialogue in the Shades between an Unfortunate Divine, and a Welch Member of Parliament, Lately Deceased (1777).
