Quarto. Limited edition of 120 copies. 98pp, [4]. With seven full-page lithographed illustrations in the text by Amerigo Bartoli Natinguerra (1890-1971). Original publisher's limp cream paper boards, lettered in red, glassine wrapper. Very minor shelf-wear, loss to spine of wrapper. Internally immaculate. Signed by Sanminiatelli on the colophon.
A mid-twentieth century Veronese printing of Machiavelli's infamous five-act satirical play, initially published in 1524 and first performed in 1526. Of the 120 copies of this edition printed, 100 were issued to subscribers of the Cento Amici del Libro, with each commencing with a printed presentation leaf bearing the name of the recipient (in this instance Emanuele Pesenti), and each signed by Florentine novelist, and board member of the Cento Amici del Libro, Bino Sanminiatelli (1896-1984).
