A rare survival of the sole edition of a volume of poetry - the principal poem inspired by the Indian Rebellion - by Thomas Benson Laurence, author of the autobiographical Six years in the north-west, from 1854 to 1860 (Calcutta, 1860?) and a critical anthology of Anglo-Indian poets English Poetry in India (Calcutta, 1869).
The list of subscribers includes Sir John Lawrence (1811-1879), Viceroy and Governor-General of India.
