The tenth edition of Byron's Ode to Napoleon Buonaparte, written under the misguided impression that Napoleon had suffered an inglorious fall post-Leipzig. Composed in stages, and first published anonymously, the poem ridicules Napoleon for his failure to achieve a promised great destiny, and expresses disappointment in his decision to abdicate in the face of Europe's disdain.
