A series of political pamphlets by English magistrate and writer Henry Fielding (1707-1754), known for his seminal bildungsroman novel Tom Jones. Written whilst acting as Westminster's chief magistrate, the book criticises the administration of criminal law, blaming the increase in robberies on nervous juries, over-pardoning, and the general celebration of public executions.
