THIERS, A[dolphe]. The history of the french revolution.

London. Henry G. Bohn, 1861.
8vo. [4], 972pp. Contemporary gilt-tooled calf, contrasting morocco lettering-piece, marbled edges. A trifle rubbed and marked, sunned. Marbled endpapers, inked gift inscription to front blank fly-leaf.
A history of the French Revolution by Adolphe Thiers (1797-1877), who served as President of France from 1871 to 1873. Receiving high praise from French critics, the work, originally published between 1823 and 1837, did much to cripple the administration of the last Bourbon king, who would be overthrown in 1830.
