The second edition of churchman and author Richard Grey's (1696-1771) treatise on ecclesiastical law. It was upon the publication of this volume that Grey was awarded the degree of D. D. from the University of Oxford - its recognition resulted in four eventual editions. Alongside theological work, Grey was best known for his Memoria Technica, in which he proposed a memory system that would eventually develop into the Mnemonic major system.
